Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital

Board certified in anesthesiology, critical care, and neuro critical care. Nationally recognized expert in critical medicine and perioperative medicine. Has held numerous senior leadership positions at Northwestern University, The Ohio State University, and the University of Minnesota. Has been providing critical care services at Southdale since 2017 and recently helped develop the M Health Fairview ICU triage service stationed at Southdale. His experience in all types of ICU will allow him to work with Southdale leadership to continue improving quality and safety. Also serves as the Officer of the Day on the East Bank and Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs for the Department of Anesthesiology. Previously the Executive Medical Director of Perioperative Services (Anesthesiology) at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Iowa, where he was the chief resident. Has a track record of clinical excellence as a physician with EPPA since 2008, and has served as the Assistant Medical Director (AMD) of Southdale's ED since 2012. As the AMD, he has participated in numerous process improvement and quality initiatives, and served on multiple hospital committees. He is an experienced and trusted member of the Southdale ED leadership team.
