Dr. Brian Zwoyer, DNP, RN, NE-BC has been named president of Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. [3] He served as the interim president of Sentara Halifax since December 2019 and previously served as vice president of patient care services and chief nurse executive for Halifax. [3] In his interim role, Zwoyer led the team through their transition to their new electronic medical record, EPIC. [3] Prior to joining Sentara, Brian spent 11 years at the University of Virginia Health System where he held several roles including Director of Inpatient Surgical Services and Emergency Department, and manager for several inpatient units. [12] He moved to Virginia in 2008 from New Mexico where he spent 10 years working at the University of New Mexico Hospital. [12] Before beginning his healthcare career, Brian spent seven years in the United States Army. [12]
