Donald John Emery

President/CEO

Named to lead Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville and Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock effective August 2023. Previously served as president of Bon Secours' Southside Medical Center in Petersburg and Southern Virginia Medical Center in Emporia. He is responsible for the operational success of the two hospitals while focusing on patient care. Joined the health system in 2020 when Bon Secours acquired Southside Medical Center and Southern Virginia Medical Center. While there, he led expansions in teleneurology, swing beds and behavioral health as well as adding a women's center and imaging centers. Prior to Bon Secours, Emery worked in Florida and oversaw a hospital evacuation during Hurricane Irma. He is a member of the 2023 Lead Virginia class.
