Candy Powell has served as the administrator of Collingsworth General Hospital since 2006, bringing over 17 years of healthcare experience to the position. She has a strong background in radiology and hospital operations, having served as the director of radiology and overseeing multiple departments since 1989. A native of Wellington, Candy graduated from Wellington High School in 1987 and received her associate degree in radiology from Amarillo College in 1989. She began her healthcare career as a radiology technician at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, Elk City, Oklahoma, before joining Collingsworth General Hospital. Candy’s dedication to rural healthcare and her community is evident in her work at Collingsworth General Hospital. She loves the close-knit environment of her hometown and enjoys taking care of friends and neighbors. Candy is actively involved in local activities and supports various community initiatives. Candy is married to Jeff Powell, and they have three children and three grandchildren. She finds joy in outdoor adventures and traveling with her family.
Vikki Barton, RN, joined the nursing staff of Collingsworth General in 1998 as a licensed vocational nurse. While working at the hospital, she returned to school to earn her advanced nursing degree, and was promoted to the position of registered nurse in 2005. Not surprisingly, Vikki knows every position within the nursing department and has nursing experience in a variety of medical areas such as trauma, pediatrics, geriatrics, cardiac, discharge planning, respiratory therapy, wound care, physical therapy and hospice care. A longtime resident of Wellington, she epitomizes the caring attitude that made Collingsworth General a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for patient satisfaction.
