Fabian Grabski

Interim Medical Center Director

Mr. Fabian Grabski is the interim medical center director at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. He comes to Poplar Bluff from the VA St. Louis Health Care System, where he served as deputy executive director. Grabski's career began as the assistant chief engineer at the VA. St. Louis Health Care System in 2007. He subsequently became the chief of facilities engineering and biomedical engineering in 2012, and the associate medical center director in 2015. Grabski received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, and his Master in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. His professional certifications include completion of the VHA New Executive Training (NExT) and Health Care Leadership Development Programs. He is an active member on the VHA HOC Workforce Committee. He's also a Veteran who served as a major for the Missouri Air National Guard which, included a deployment to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. Through his military service, he completed numerous officer corps leadership training and education programs.

James Warren MBA, FACHE

Associate Director

James Warren, MBA, FACHE, is the associate director of the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Prior to his current role, Warren served in several leadership positions within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, to include assistant director of the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas; acting assistant/associate director and business office chief of both the Memphis, Tennessee, and Boston VA health care systems; medical administrative officer of Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia; and operations manager of radiology at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. Most recently he served as associate director of the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, and interim medical center director at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. A Veteran himself, Warren served in the U.S. Army as an armor crewman. In addition to the 4 years he served in the Army, Warren has more than 30 years of combined federal service. A native of Illinois, Warren received an associate degree in radiology from Malcom X College in Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts, Business, and Technology degree from Governors State University in University Park, Illinois. He also earned a master's degree in business administration, with a focus on health, from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Additionally, Warren is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). As a Veterans Health Administration leader, Warren is deeply committed to the Veteran and employee experience.
