Cayo has 15 years of healthcare experience with expertise in hospital operations, strategic planning & execution, contract management, business development & physician relations, and human capital management. He joined the UT Health East Texas region of hospitals as UT Health Pittsburg Chief Executive Officer in 2021. Before assuming the Pittsburg CEO position in March 2021, Cayo spent the majority of his career at Kindred Hospital systems. He earned his bachelor's degree in business management and his master's degree in health administration from Florida International University in Miami. He also serves as CEO of UT Health Quitman.
