Will begin his new role in July 2024. Has spent his career serving large, multihospital pediatric health systems in leadership roles including chief quality officer and chief medical officer. Most recently held the position of chief medical officer at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. A dual board-certified pediatrician and pediatric emergency medicine specialist, practiced clinically while serving as a professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Received his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse, now Upstate Medical University. Completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and his pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Children's Memorial Hospital, now Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

Ryan McDonough

Chief Medical Officer | Arkansas Children's Northwest

An endocrinologist and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Joined ACNW from Children's Mercy in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was chief medical informatics officer and senior medical director. Also held the position of co-medical director of the Children's Diabetes Center and treated patients as an endocrinologist. Under McDonough's leadership, Children's Mercy made advancements in diabetes care, including the transition to outpatient new-onset diabetes education. Has also held key positions with the American Diabetes Association, the Diabetes Education & Camping Association and Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet. Board-certified in general pediatrics, pediatric endocrinology and diabetes, and clinical informatics. Earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Des Moines University in Iowa and served a residency and postgraduate training at Children's Mercy.
