Nashoba Valley Medical Center (NVMC) was a community hospital located in Ayer, Massachusetts, offering a range of inpatient medical, psychiatric, and outpatient services, along with 24/7 emergency care. As part of Steward Health Care, NVMC was committed to providing high-quality care to the surrounding communities, including Ayer, Shirley, and Groton. NVMC strived to maintain the well-being of the community through preventive health, education, and wellness services, addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of the people it served. The hospital closed its doors on the morning of August 31, 2024. UMass Memorial Health is opening an emergency department that will replace the former Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
