Rick Metzger

Chief Executive Officer

Rick Metzger, MMHC, BSN, was named CEO of USA Health Providence Hospital in November 2024. [7, 8, 9] He most recently served as interim CEO. [7, 8] Since joining Providence Hospital in 2016, he has held a variety of positions including chief operating officer, vice president of operations and surgical services, and assistant administrator. [7] He launched his healthcare career at Huntsville Hospital. [7] He earned a Master's degree in healthcare management at Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Alabama Huntsville. [7] He is described as a true servant leader who has already demonstrated success at Providence through devotion to his associates, which goes hand in hand with a deep commitment to patient care and safety. [7] He was also a steady force during the acquisition from Ascension Healthcare and brings extensive experience working with teams that focus on patient-centered, compassionate care. [7, 8]

Alecia Torrance

Assistant Hospital Administrator

Alecia Torrance has been appointed the new assistant hospital administrator at USA Health Providence Hospital. [3] She has extensive experience in nursing leadership and healthcare management. [3] Her unique combination of clinical expertise, operational insight and business acumen is expected to play a pivotal role in furthering the hospital's mission. [3] Torrance started her career as a medical surgical oncology nurse, then moved to perioperative services, first in the post-anesthesia care unit and later the operating room, and soon transitioned into leadership roles. [3] She earned her bachelor's degree in organizational management from Tusculum College, her MBA in hospital administration from the University of Dallas, a diploma from St. Mary's Medical Center School of Nursing, and a bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Tennessee. [3] She is currently working on a master's degree in nursing at Aspen University. [3] She has worked in over 300 hospitals as a healthcare consultant and in industry at a major medical device manufacturing company. [3]
