She was previously the chief financial officer and director of operations for Sanford Tracy & Westbrook. She started with Sanford Health (then Sioux Valley) in 1998 as a staff accountant, and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer/Director of Operations a year later. She graduated from Southwest State University in Marshall, with a Bachelor of Science Degree with concentrations in Finance and Management and was pursuing her Masters of Administration, Health Care Degree from the University of Phoenix.
