Officials and community leaders recently gathered to break ground on the Vandalia Health Mon Harrison Neighborhood Hospital in Bridgeport, marking the official start of construction. This new state-of-the-art small format hospital is planned to serve the greater Harrison County community, which includes Clarksburg. The project represents a significant investment, estimated at $22.5 million, and is intended to expand access to quality healthcare locally. Small format hospitals are accredited to provide essential services such as inpatient and outpatient medical beds, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, and full-service emergency care on a smaller scale than larger hospitals. Mon Health System, as part of Vandalia Health, selected a property at Charles Pointe in Bridgeport for the location of this new facility. This development follows Mon Health's previous opening of Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital in White Hall, the first small format hospital in West Virginia, in December 2021, and is part of their commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and choice in the state.
