Michael Seeley

President, Health First Foundation & Chief Development Officer, Health First system

Michael Seeley joined the Health First Foundation as President in October 2016. He has more than 25 years of experience in building and strengthening comprehensive fund development strategies for both health systems and not-for-profit organizations. As Health First Foundation President, Michael serves as the Chief Development Officer of the Health First system and is responsible for the planning, implementation and coordination of all fundraising activities. His team is also responsible for Community Benefit programs and community partnerships working to support needs identified in the Community Health Needs Assessment. Additionally, he is the Designated Institutional Official for Graduate Medical Education Programs.

Nicholas Romanello

Assistant Secretary

Nicholas Romanello is responsible for handling and coordinating all legal matters for Health First, including all litigation, transactions, contracting, corporate, and regulatory matters, as well as risk management. Prior to joining Health First in 2016, Nicholas served as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for the Health Care District of Palm Beach County. He has experience with a wide range of legal and operational issues concerning hospitals and healthcare systems.

Cheyana Fischer

Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer

Cheyana Fischer is the Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Health First. She started her nursing career in 2006 at AdventHealth Orlando and joined Health First in 2008 as an emergency department nurse at Holmes Regional Medical Center, specializing in emergency medicine and trauma. Fischer was part of the team that opened Viera Hospital in 2011 and progressed through leadership positions, including director of nursing (2016), Vice President of Nursing (2017), and Hospital Administrator at Viera Hospital (2019), where she was credited with achieving high standards in quality and patient safety. She was named Chief Nursing Officer for Health First's Hospital Division in 2020 and added the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Hospital Division in 2022.

Kent Smith

Health First Board of Trustees' Chair

T. Kent Smith is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Health First, a healthcare provider and payor. He also served as Interim CEO in 2023 to lead a financial turnaround. Prior to his role at Health First, Smith was the co-owner, president, and COO of Revolution Technologies for ten years. From 2003 to 2007, he was the president and CEO of DLH, Inc., a public micro-cap focused on the healthcare industry. He also held positions as president of The Honey Baked Ham Company and CEO of the Heavenly Ham Company. Earlier in his career, Smith spent 11 years at Norrell Corporation, a commercial staffing firm. Smith earned his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from the University of Virginia. He is currently on the Florida Institute of Technology College of Business Advisory Board and previously served on the Advisory Board of the University of Virginia School of Nursing. He was also an Executive in Residence for Finance at the Georgia State University College of Business.
