Creeksource Consulting LLC, a consulting firm owned by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, has formed a partnership with ScanTech AI Systems, an Atlanta-based AI security company. This collaboration aims to pursue contracts with the Department of Defense (DoD) by leveraging the tribal preferences available to Creeksource. The partnership intends to market ScanTech's proprietary technology, which combines machine learning and scanning capabilities, for use at security checkpoints across DoD facilities. ScanTech's AI-powered scanners are designed to identify potential threats and items of interest.

The Muscogee Nation Department of Health (MCNDOH) has announced the opening of a significant expansion to the Emergency Department at the Muscogee Nation Medical Center in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. This expansion adds 13,000 square feet to the department, nearly doubling the number of treatment rooms from seven to twelve. The goal of this expansion is to address the increasing demand for emergency services and improve the efficiency of critical care delivery. The renovated space features a redesigned layout with a central nurses' station to enhance communication and patient monitoring, as well as dedicated areas for isolation, decontamination, X-rays, and CT imaging.

The MCN Okmulgee Health Complex was placed on lockdown on March 27th due to credible threats made by a family member of a patient. This incident occurred on the same day Lighthorse Police were involved in a separate six-hour standoff in Jenks. The lockdown at the health complex led to the cancellation of all appointments for the day out of caution for patients and staff. The suspect, identified as Morgan Freeman, was later taken into custody and booked into the Okmulgee County jail on felony charges related to planning to attempt to conspire to perform an act of violence. No one was reported hurt during the lockdown, and increased security measures are being implemented at the complex.

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation filed lawsuits in federal courts against District Attorney Carol Iski (serving Okmulgee and McIntosh Counties) and District Attorney Matthew Ballard (serving Rogers, Mayes, and Craig Counties). The Nation alleges that these District Attorneys are unlawfully prosecuting Native Americans for alleged crimes occurring within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation boundaries, despite the U.S. Supreme Court's McGirt v. Oklahoma ruling which affirmed the reservation's intact boundaries and the lack of state criminal jurisdiction over Indians within those boundaries. Principal Chief David Hill stated that the Nation has significantly expanded its law enforcement and judicial capabilities since the McGirt ruling to ensure public safety and that these prosecutions infringe upon the civil rights of Indians and interfere with the Nation's self-government. The Nation is seeking a clear message from the federal courts to these jurisdictions to uphold federal law and respect tribal sovereignty. [17, 18]

This approval signifies a step towards potential expansion or relocation of health services or administrative functions in the Tulsa area, demonstrating the Nation's continued investment in its healthcare infrastructure to serve its citizens. The resolution, sponsored by Representative Leonard Gouge, indicates a strategic move to acquire assets that will support the future operations and reach of the MCN Department of Health. [11]
