Southwell has announced the addition of two new internal medicine physicians, Dr. Cynthia Phillips and Dr. Joseph Thomas, to their practices in Tifton and Valdosta. [3] These physicians will provide comprehensive primary care for adults, encompassing preventive services, chronic disease management, and routine check-ups. [3] Dr. Cynthia Phillips is joining the Southwell Medical Clinic in Tifton, located at 2225 Highway 41 North. [3] She has nearly three decades of experience and holds certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine. [3] Dr. Phillips obtained her medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency training at West Virginia University/Charleston Area. [3] The Tifton clinic is accepting new patients, who can schedule appointments by calling 229-391-4100. [3] Dr. Joseph Thomas, who previously practiced internal medicine in Lowndes County for over 28 years before retiring in 2023, is returning to practice at Southwell Internal Medicine in Valdosta. [3] His medical education includes a degree from East Tennessee State University and internship and residency training at Vanderbilt University and East Tennessee State University.
