Lawrence J. Furnstahl

Lawrence J. Furnstahl serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He possesses nearly four decades of experience in strategic, financial, and operational management within large universities and academic health centers, with over 30 years in CFO roles. Prior to his tenure at OHSU, which began in 2011, Furnstahl held executive financial and strategic positions at prominent institutions such as the University of Chicago Medical Center and Biological Sciences Division, UCSF Stanford Health Care, and the University of Chicago. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Chicago. Furnstahl's board service includes positions with Encyclopaedia Britannica and ARCH Development Corporation, and he is a current board director and past chair of the Hyde Park Art Center. Additionally, he was appointed to the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System Board in 2015 and currently serves as its vice-chair.
