Seaside Healthcare, headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana, has sold off its two major behavioral health divisions. SUN Behavioral Health, based in Red Bank, New Jersey, has acquired Seaside Healthcare's multi-state outpatient business, which includes home- and community-based services (HCBS) offering intensive medical and social services for adults and children. Concurrently, The Graph Group, an investment firm headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, has acquired an inpatient psychiatric facility and an affiliated partial hospital program (PHP) facility that also provides housing support in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to the article, the previous backer of Seaside Healthcare, Pharos Capital Partners, sold the company's assets in parts to maximize the clinical offering of each segment after a nearly 11-year hold period. This strategic sale allows SUN Behavioral Health to consolidate various services aimed at individuals with complex behavioral health needs. The property housing the Seaside Health System of Baton Rouge hospital, located on Convention Street in Mid City, has been sold. The New Jersey-based investment firm, The Graph Group, acquired the property through its entity, Seaside Healthcare RE IPF LLC, for $7.3 million. The sale was completed with the filing of the deal with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court's office on Friday, May 30, 2025. Franklin Roemer, CEO of Seaside Healthcare, represented the seller, BR Hospital RE LLC, while Avi Philipson, CEO of The Graph Group, represented the buyer in this real estate transaction. Despite the change in ownership of the property, Seaside Health System of Baton Rouge is reported to be continuing its operations at this location.

SUN Behavioral Health announced the acquisition of the home- and community-based services division of Seaside Healthcare, a behavioral health provider operating across six Southeastern states including Louisiana. This acquisition, which closed on May 1, 2025, aims to significantly expand SUN's continuum of care and enhance access to community-based mental health services in underserved areas. Seaside's acute inpatient facilities were not included in this transaction and will continue to operate under the Seaside Healthcare name. The acquired community-based agencies will retain their local names, and their administrative leadership will transition to SUN Behavioral Health's corporate team. This strategic move is intended to allow SUN to better serve vulnerable populations and bridge the gap between acute care and sustained community support for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and youth with complex behavioral health needs. According to Steve Page, CEO of SUN Behavioral Health, the combination of SUN's hospital-based expertise and Seaside's experience in community care will lead to more integrated and person-centered services aimed at helping individuals move from crisis towards long-term recovery. Seaside Behavioral Center, LLC is currently involved in ongoing litigation in the case of Devin Tucker versus Seaside Behavioral Center, LLC and East Jefferson General Hospital. [16] The lawsuit originates from an incident in December 2020 where the plaintiff sustained injuries after falling from a third-floor window at a psychiatric facility located inside East Jefferson General Hospital, where they were receiving care under Seaside. [14] The litigation involves claims for damages and an assertion that Seaside and EJGH are liable for the sustained injuries.
