UnitedHealthcare Community & State has invested $10,000 in People Incorporated, a community action agency in Virginia, to address homelessness, improve housing stability, and support Medicaid populations with housing services. This collaboration aims to improve whole-person health outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness, as rates in Virginia have been rising. The funding will enhance People Inc.'s ability to provide outreach, housing support, pre-tenancy services, case management, and limited financial assistance. The partnership also includes working towards better coordination between the health system and housing services, including data sharing to identify and address community health and social needs.
