The Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) implemented new utilization review edits effective October 26, 2024, to assign limits for specific services across the FECA, DCMWC, and DEEOIC programs. Further utilization review edits were implemented on January 11, 2025, to limit billing for services performed on the same date of service for the DCMWC, DEEOIC, and DFEC programs. Additionally, effective February 22, 2025, OWCP will automatically reprocess denied bills for services provided by reactivated OWCP providers under certain conditions. Providers have also been required to submit a billing NPI since August 24, 2024, when billing for services.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced a final rule issued by its Office of Workers' Compensation Programs revising regulations under the Black Lung Benefits Act concerning self-insurance by coal mine operators. The new standard requires self-insured operators to post adequate security for their Black Lung benefit liabilities and aims to protect the Black Lung Disability Trust Fund. The rule reduces the required security amount, provides an option to phase in increased security, streamlines the appeal process for self-insurance determinations, and allows existing trusts while preventing new ones. The announcement was made in Washington.

Provides operational and financial oversight to over 1,300 employees at the national office and across the country. [1] Brings more than 30 years of insurance and benefits leadership and management experience to OWCP. [1] Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Legal Studies from Pacific Lutheran University, a Master's in Public Administration from Arkansas State University, a Pre-Doctoral Executive Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Liberty University, and holds multiple insurance, audit, and technology credentials/certifications. Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO) Officer

Oversees all business aspects of IT for OWCP and its programs, including assuring existing legacy systems continue to meet business operations, adjudication, reporting, and payment needs until they are replaced through modernization. [1] Manages the effective development of all business systems requirements, business systems process reengineering, data cleanup and migration in support of the multi-year IT modernization occurring across all OWCP systems and programs.
