Greg Kelley is the president of SEIU Healthcare Illinois Indiana Missouri & Kansas and the SEIU Illinois State Council. In December of 2021, he became the first Black president in the Council's history. His 20-plus years in the labor movement began as a rank-and-file SEIU member at the Cook County Clerk's office. He also organized attending physicians at the former Cook County Hospital and workers at the DuSable Museum. Born in Chicago, Kelley is the son of longtime union members. He also serves as Vice-President and is an Executive Board Member at the International Union, SEIU, sits on the executive board of the Chicago Federation of Labor, is a trustee of the Chicago Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, and is on the board of United Working Families.
Dian Palmer is the Vice President of the SEIU Illinois State Council and President of SEIU Local 73. She was the first person in her family to graduate from college. Her career started in a nursing home and included work at a hospital and a sexual assault treatment center. She found her voice while working as a registered nurse and successfully organized nurses in her facility. She was president of SEIU Healthcare WI before coming to Local 73 in November 2018. Palmer holds a B.S. in Nursing from Carroll College/Columbia School of Nursing and is a State of Wisconsin Public Health Nurse.
Efrain Elias has worked for SEIU Local 1 for more than 20 years, beginning as an organizer helping suburban commercial office janitors unionize. He is committed to helping and organizing the unorganized, especially people of color.
Anthony Driver is a lifelong southside Chicago resident, political strategist, and labor leader. He comes from a labor family. Driver has been politically active since his graduation from Howard University where he earned a degree in Political Science. He is a former Chicago Federation of Labor Delegate, an inaugural Black Bench Cohort member and serves as a board member of the Peace and Education Coalition of the Back of the Yards.
Genie Kastrup was SEIU Local 1's Executive Vice President and moved up to the position of Vice President of SEIU Illinois State Council.
Joseph became an SEIU member 35 years ago when he was a custodian at Cicero School District. In 2000, he accepted an organizer position with Local 73 where he has held many leadership positions leading to his current role as Secretary-Treasurer.
Jeffrey is a third-generation union member with 29 years of experience, serving at all levels of leadership in the union movement. He is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.
Stacia is an experienced organizer who has led SEIU 73 members in numerous campaigns. Since becoming the Organizing Director at SEIU 73, she has directed staff, developed campaign strategy, executed actions and stood with members during contract wins at CPD, CPS, UIC and Cook County.
Marketta Paylor is a Driver License Hearing Officer with the Illinois Secretary of State Department of Motor Vehicles and has worked for the office for 16 years. She serves as Chief Steward, Executive Board Member, and sat on the Bargaining Committee.
Alfred Rodriguez has been a dedicated Special Education Classroom Assistant with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) for fourteen years.
Tom Balanoff has been active in the labor movement for 50 years. He previously served as President of SEIU Local 73 and was instrumental in the transformation and political restructuring of SEIU in Illinois. He also joined the SEIU International Executive Board and became an SEIU Vice President.
