Louisiana native with more than 20 years of managed care leadership experience, much of it in the Medicare Advantage industry. [6] He previously served as SVP of Humana's Medicare West segment, overseeing operations in 17 states including Louisiana and managing over 1 million members. [6] Fernandez began his career with Ochsner Health Plan of Louisiana as an account executive from 1996 to 1998 and returned to the organization in 2022 to serve as CEO of Ochsner Health Plan.
