Named regional president of Kaiser Permanente's Mid-Atlantic region on October 31, 2023, effective December 4. Responsible for the health system's performance and overall success in the region, leading the focus on providing integrated, high-quality health care and coverage in partnership with the executive medical director for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. Has over 20 years of experience leading integrated public health systems. Previously served as CEO of Cook County Health System in Illinois. As Associate Executive Director, he has oversight for MAPMG and leads more than 1,800 physicians and staff members who deliver care to nearly 800,000 members in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Served for 9 years as the Physician-in-Chief for the DC and Suburban Maryland service area. Member of Kaiser Permanente's National Health Policy Committee and National Telehealth Sponsors Steering Committee. Joined The Permanente Medical Group in 1997 and was part of the original physician leadership transition team for MAPMG in 2009.
