Served as the Idaho Medicaid administrator since November 2021 and was promoted to deputy director in June 2024. As Medicaid administrator she oversaw administration for the Idaho Medicaid program serving approximately 350,000 Idahoans. Prior to her move to Idaho, she held leadership positions with the Texas Medicaid program and the Texas Office of Inspector General. Charron previously worked in government programs and compliance roles within a community-based health plan in Arizona. Charron received her bachelor's degree in public policy, planning and management from the University of Oregon and a master's degree in public health from the University of Arizona.
Serves as director of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. He was appointed to lead the department by Gov. Brad Little in May 2024. The department has a staff of nearly 3,000 and an annual budget of $5.5 billion. Dr. Adams is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all Idahoans, with goals for the department including strengthening child welfare, promoting upward mobility, improving behavioral health, and reducing the regulatory burden on department stakeholders. Holds PharmD and MPH degrees.
Supported Idahoans' access to healthcare at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Medicaid for over eight years. Served as the Deputy Administrator of Operations, supporting, managing, directing, and contributing to several initiatives across the agency. Has served on many councils and workgroups including Idaho's State Independent Living Council, Medicaid Provider Stabilization Funding Workgroup, and Community NOW! Prior to her role at Medicaid, Beth worked for 19 years in the private healthcare management sector. Has a background in multi-site operations management including skilled nursing, long term care, retail pharmacy, home infusion pharmacy, and durable medical equipment. Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree through the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
