The Rhode Island General Assembly passed legislation in July 2023 to expand the Medicaid Buy In Program for the Working Disabled, now called Ticket to Work (TTW). This expanded program provides the same medical coverage as the Sherlock Plan but removes income and asset limits, allowing participants to earn and save more money. Eligibility for TTW requires individuals to be between 16-64, meet Medicaid disability requirements (not necessarily unable to work), and provide proof of active, paid employment. Some participants may have a monthly premium based on income.
