Effective January 1, 2025, the TRICARE West Region contractor changed to TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Indiana is listed as a state in the new West Region, with the note that there are some ZIP codes that will move to the West Region, while others will remain in the East Region with Humana Military as the contractor. Beneficiaries can use a tool on the TRICARE website to determine their region by entering their ZIP code.

2025-01-01

A reminder was issued that TRICARE regions are changing on January 1, 2025. This includes carve-out areas in states like Indiana where certain ZIP codes will be in a different region than the rest of the state. For Indiana, specific ZIP codes in certain counties will be in the new West Region with TriWest as the contractor, which is different from the rest of Indiana. Beneficiaries can check their region using the tool on the TRICARE Changes page.

2024-12-08

As of January 1, 2025, some TRICARE beneficiaries in specific ZIP codes within Indiana (Benton, Fountain, Lake, Vermillion, or Warren counties) have transitioned from the East Region to the West Region. This change is an exception to the rest of Indiana, which remains in the East Region. The carve-outs for these ZIP codes are due to their proximity to military hospitals or clinics in bordering states that are part of the Prime Service Area.
