CDR Kristine Scherbring is the Regional Health Administrator (RHA) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, in Region 5. She is a Commissioned Corps officer in the U.S. Public Health Service and is the senior federal public health official representing the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) in Region 5. Prior to this role, she worked for Federal Occupational Health (FOH), Clinical Health Services as the Chief of Clinics (COC). Before joining FOH, she served as the Region 5 Senior Public Health Advisor (SPHA) for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health. She was also previously the Chicago Innovation and Operations Division Director for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in Region 5, where she provided direct supervision and leadership for staff responsible for activities related to innovative payment model design and issues regarding Medicare Part B coverage. She holds a MSN with an emphasis in nursing leadership and a BSN from Morningside College.
