Interim Director, Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA)

Appointed by Governor Ferguson in January 2025, serves as interim director of the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA). [2] A former Medicaid director, she brings decades of health care leadership experience. [2, 5] She previously served as HCA's Medicaid Director from 2013 until her retirement in 2021. [12] She has worked in various health-related positions for the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and HCA. [6] She served as the State Medicaid Director for 9 years. [6] Prior to that, she was Assistant Secretary for the Aging and Disability Services Administration for DSHS for two years and Director of the Health Care Services Division of the Medicaid program. [6] She has held leadership positions including Assistant Administrator of the Public Employees Benefits Board. [6] In 2010, she was selected for the inaugural class of the Medicaid Leadership Institute. [6, 15] She is a National Association of Medicaid Directors board member [10] and chairs the National Academy for State Health Policy's executive committee. [10]
