Wellcare has updated its policy for inpatient readmissions for WellCare Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. This update includes prepay procedures to align with existing post-pay policy and ensures readmission services occur when a patient is discharged/transferred from an acute care PPS hospital and is readmitted to the same hospital or a hospital within the same network within 30 days for related symptoms or evaluation and management of the prior stay's medical condition. This policy is publicly available on their website.
